You do not require any previous musical experience or training to engage in music therapy!

However, we are all innately musical, so you already have the music in you!

Our body systems follow patterns and rhythms, the brain instinctively responds to a beat, and we have a heartbeat - our own internal drummer.

Music therapy is a discipline in which Certified Music Therapists (MTAs) use music purposefully within therapeutic relationships to support development, health, and well-being. Music therapists use music safely and ethically to address human needs within cognitive, communicative, emotional, musical, physical, social, and spiritual domains.

  • completed a 1000 hour internship under the supervision of a certified music therapist (MTA)

  • successfully completed a standardized board exam administered by the Certification Board for Music Therapists

“I absolutely loved my time with Daiva. She gave me the confidence to sing and learn guitar two things I was not sure I was capable of doing. Daiva is patient and non-judgemental. Wonderful experience!”

“Daiva has worked as a music therapist for our son with autism for a few years. He really enjoys working with Daiva, and we are amazed how far he has come along with his piano playing. Daiva is very skilled, and able to engage with special needs clients, motivating them to learn and have fun at the same time. Highly recommended.”
